Legalisation requirements for Afghanistan

Document for use in Afghanistan first needs to be legalised by way of FCDO Apostille and then submitted to the Consulate of Afghanistan for further attestation.

**Since 2021 when Taliban regime took over Afghanistan, there is no longer legalisation available for this country until further notice.

FEES

The consular fee is £300 per document related to commercial matters or personal matters if the document holder is a Non-Afghan national. The consular fee for the legalisation of educational documents is £150 for Non-Afghan nationals and £10 for Afghan nationals (a passport copy is required as proof of nationality).

PROCESSING TIME

The consular processing time is likely to be 3 working days.

IMPORTANT NOTES

For the legalisation of educational documents, the original certificate must be presented along with the notarised and Apostilled copy certificate.
