Legalisation requirements for Malaysia

Malaysia is a member of the Hague Convention but has not signed the 1961 Apostille Convention.  Check Malaysia’s status on the Hague Convention.

The Malaysian High Commission in London provides legalisation, if required. Please confirm the requirements with the local requesting party in Malaysia.

Important Notes for Malaysia

The High commission requires the document holder’s copy of passport on submission. For the legalisation of a marriage certificate or Certificate of No Impediment, a copy of the passport from each individual mentioned on the document is required.

The Malaysian High Commission accepts foreign documents if certified and Apostilled in the UK. Restrictions apply for the certification and Apostille legalisation of foreign documents in the UK, please double check with our team.
